Art.com Inc. Announces New Chief Technology Officer

Seasoned Technology Executive to Lead Company’s Global Technology Strategy and Organization

SAN FRANCISCO (June 8, 2010)—Art.com Inc., the world’s leading online specialty provider of wall art products and services, today announced the appointment of Nasos Topakas as chief technology officer. Topakas brings more than two decades of software engineering and executive technology management experience to this position, where he will oversee the company’s overall technology strategy and organization.

“Technology and innovation are critical to the success of our global e-commerce business as we seek to transform the way the world shops for wall art,” said Geoffroy Martin, chief executive officer of Art.com Inc. “Nasos’ expertise as a technology leader and innovator will allow us to improve the overall shopping experience on our sites and enhance our position as the world’s premier destination for discovering, personalizing, sharing and purchasing wall art.”

Before joining Art.com Inc., Topakas served as chief technology officer for SendMe, Inc., a leading provider of mobile entertainment, where he managed the company’s technology strategy, budget, execution and architectural direction, and transformed the technology function from a pure engineering team to a more comprehensive technology organization. Prior to SendMe, Topakas served as chief technology officer and senior vice president of engineering at StubHub, Inc., an online ticket marketplace. While at StubHub, Topakas guided the company’s technology re-architecture initiative to a service-oriented architecture and helped launch StubHub Maps, an interactive seating maps program. EBay acquired StubHub during his tenure there, and Topakas led the integration of StubHub’s technology function into eBay’s organization. Topakas has also held technology leadership roles at Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. and Ofoto (now Kodak Gallery). He received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from San Francisco State University.

“I am excited to join Art.com Inc.’s executive team,” said Topakas. “I look forward to building upon the company’s strong track record as an e-commerce leader by strengthening its technology capabilities and leveraging emerging technologies to drive new levels of performance and innovation.”
