Art.com Launches Photos to ArtTM Mobile Application
Turn Instagram Snapshots into Masterpieces from Your iPhone with Free, First-of-its-Kind Service
EMERYVILLE, CA (November 26, 2012)—Art.com Inc., the world’s easiest place to discover, experience and buy art online, has launched its popular Photos to ArtTM service as a free mobile application. The first-ever app of its kind, Photos to Art offers Instagram and iPhone users the ability to turn personal photos of people, places and memories into stunning, high-quality works of wall art directly from their phones.
With the new application, people can upload customized photos with special effects from their Instagram accounts or – if they don't have an Instagram account – directly from their iPhone camera roll. After uploading their photos, users can choose the type of artwork they would like to create from a gallery, including large-scale artistic canvas, wood mounting, photographic poster prints and custom-framed pieces with Art.com's best-selling moulding options to compliment any snapshot.
“With most of us relying on camera phones to capture those unexpected yet special moments in our daily lives, we have created a breakthrough mobile app that makes it easy to instantly create stunning works of art directly from your phone,” said Geoffroy Martin, CEO of Art.com. “With our new Photos to Art mobile app, people can discover and create art they love anywhere – transforming simple snapshots into marvelous masterpieces in minutes.”
The Photos to Art application has several features to help people create unique, personalized works of art. First, they can see what the photo looks like hung on a wall through the Room View feature, which offers views of a living room, kitchen and dining room. For an even more personalized assessment, the Visualizer allows users to see what the piece will look like on their own wall, from a perspective of 5 to 15 feet away. In addition, while sizes range from 8 x 10 inches to 20 x 30 inches, users are only able to select photo art in sizes appropriate for the quality of photo they uploaded with the app's Smart Sizing. Lastly, to leverage the new capabilities of Apple's iOS 6, people can also upload their panoramic photos and create 8 x 24 inch panoramic prints.
All Photos to Art products are hand-made by professional artisans in the U.S.A. Our custom framed options are made from solid wood and come with acid-free mats and acrylic glazing. Photos on canvas are stretched onto 1.5 inch wooden support bars, museum-wrapped with hand-painted black edges and covered with an anti-UV acrylic finish to protect the image from dust, moisture and fading. Prices start at $4 for poster prints, $25 for wood mounting, $50 for custom frames and $35 for artistic canvases. Further, Art.com's custom packaging ensures the personalized photo art will arrive at the customer's doorstep in a matter of days in excellent condition, and all Art.com products are backed with a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee.
Photos to Art has been featured by Apple as a New and Noteworthy application and is available now for free in iTunes. The service is also available on Art.com.
